Rebecca Wishnia, Violin

A San Francisco native, violinist Rebecca Wishnia began performing with a variety of Bay Area ensembles from a young age. Recently, she has appeared with the Santa Cruz Chamber Players, String Orchestra of Hidden Valley, After Everything, and numerous local orchestras. While studying with Roy Malan at University of California, Santa Cruz, she won the 2012 Concerto Competition and was the 2013 recipient of the Hortense Zuckerman Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Music Performance and Scholarship. At summer festivals, she received instruction from several renowned chamber musicians, including members of the Emerson, Del Sol, and Ives Quartets. After earning her master’s degree in 2015, Rebecca joined the faculty of Villa Sinfonia Foundation, an organization dedicated to developing string musicians of all ages and abilities. She maintains a private studio and has also taught for Amabile School of Music, New World Music Academy, and Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra.
